Seasonal Tips

Here's some helpful bits of information that can help you keep a better looking lawn and provide the most value from Diamond Lawn Service.

March 27th, 2010 Low environmental impact program
This program allows high quality turf with fewer applications and less fertilizer leaching. Please visit our web page for more information.
May 8th, 2010 Grub control
Grubs continue to be a major pest in the metro Detroit area. We recommend the Merit grub preventer be applied in June or July. This is the only way to guarantee a grub free lawn.
May 8th, 2010 Tree seedlings
Many tree seedlings will begin to germinate soon. Weed control is not necessary for control, simply mowing them will take care of the problem. However, new ones will continue to germinate for quite a few more weeks.
May 8th, 2010 Grass seedhead development
Grasses are forming seed heads at this time. It is natural and will go back to it's normal growth pattern after a few more mowings.
May 8th, 2010 Late Spring Mowing Tips
You may need to mow more than once a week in order to keep up with grass growth during this time of year. Do not lower your mower! Tall mowing helps prevent weeds and crabgrass.

We hope these tips help your lawn look its best throughout the season. Please ask your technician or call our office if you have further questions.
